      I am thinking about signing on as a infantry officer, I was one at 2 sir during my nsf and now after uni, i think I would like to make the army my career.

       

      I thot that I could ask any regulars who may be here what their take was on being a professional soldier?

      If you want to sign on, it should be because of a genuine cause to serve and not the money. 

       

      Full stop.

      Then u will be even more disappointed of the bureaucracy system of SAF and lost motivation for serving.. At this market, sign on seems a better option. It's not easy to get a well paid job now. The market is very bad and worst is yet to come.

      If u don't like SAF at least the stable and well-paid money will be the thing for u to fall back on.

      I am serious abt it.

      I know/hear/seen about the red tape and #%^$*@&^ things inside .. I'm a NSF now lah. :) But even though the money is good, life is also short too~ To waste 6 years of your life doing something just because of the money [ and the current financial downturn is helping -.- ] .. don't really sound that good too me. Oh well, just my opinion though ..
