    • hi guys im new to this cause i really really wanted to vent my disatisfaction and anger towards the immigration authorities at batam.

i went to batam this afternooon and got sent back STRAIGHT AWAY. for what u may ask, heres the story..

i answered a call from my mum who chked to see if i reached batam safely for lets say...5 seconds? and the immigration man told me NO PHONE and asked me to stand at the back of the queue. Fair enough to punish me for a few minutes. but when it was my turn. he said ' GO BACK SINGAPORE 4.30'.'NO PHONE' i was on the verge of exploding and thus went to the 'immigration office' expecting to find someone who was somewhat reasonable and let this matter pass, next thing i knew he said 'THIS IS INDONESIA NOT SINGAPORE' etc etc the usual stuff u can imagine. and even questioned WHY I WAS WEARING SHORTS AND SLIPPERS TO BATAM. WT*. and so my $40 i spent on my ferry ride was used up in a time frame of 3 hours?-I havent even bought a drink from batam.

i dont know if talking like this in a forum is allowed. I want to hear what people have to say about this cause nonsense like this does drive people-me, mad.

if this isnt bs then i dont know what is.

    • The next time you go there, buy kopi for them let them drink.. Den before you leave the customs counter area, turn back and say "Eh, kopi campur babi, sedap eh?"

haha.. well.. technically speaking, not yet.. icon_lol.gif

but the general lot of them in civil service (customs, police, blah blah blah..) needs some form of "encouragement".. A great source of encouragement comes from our wallets.. Hehe.. Especially useful for people who has to make frequent business trips to Batam..

    • These matters can be settled, like in Singapore.

In Singapore they charge you, but you can officially compound the offence by paying a small sum, instead of going to court.

In Indonesia, you can compound the offence directly with the officer.

lol... actually, singaporeans should boycott countries like this altogether.

why go there and get yourself humiliated or leeched?

the news already told us numerous times about the dangers and troubles involved in going to these countries. yet, people still like to go. then come back and complain.

i really dun understand why. don't they read news? or, they just conveniently ignore it or think it won't ever happen to them?
